Mobile Golf Cart Repair on the Island, Lake Havasu City

The Island is the most recognizable stretch of Lake Havasu City, and it is genuinely an island: Pittsburgh Point started out as a peninsula jutting into the lake, and it only became separate land after developer Robert P. McCulloch had the original London Bridge reassembled here. McCulloch bought the bridge from the City of London in April 1968 for just over $2.4 million; reconstruction, using the original facing stones over a new reinforced-concrete structure, was completed in late 1971 by Sundt Construction. Once the bridge was up, a construction company dredged the Bridgewater Channel across the neck of Pittsburgh Point, and the channel that resulted made it an island in fact, not just in name. London Bridge is now the second-largest tourist attraction in Arizona, after the Grand Canyon.

A different kind of cart market

The Island gets no break from Lake Havasu City’s climate. National Weather Service normals put the June through September mean daily highs between 101.9°F and 109.3°F, and the state’s hottest temperature ever recorded, 128°F, was measured here on June 29, 1994. A pack that sits in a closed boat garage or under a dock box cover through the summer ages exactly as fast as one in an inland driveway.
